It is an honour for me to support fit4internet as an advisory board member for the following two years and thus make an important contribution to Austria playing a significant role in shaping the digital transformation in science, economy and society. As founding president of the Institute of Digital Sciences Austria in Linz (IDSA), which represents the interdisciplinary gateway between digital transformation and other domains, I am aware of the vital importance of 21st century skills for the future sustainability of Austria as a key location for education and business. It is therefore very important to me that Austrians from all walks of life are provided with the necessary digital skills to enable them to participate in the digitalisation of the country in a self-determined and proficient manner.
